Maine School Health Education Coalition is a statewide organization
that is made up of individuals from voluntary/professional organizations
and agencies, who provide leadership and advocacy for the development,
implementation and assessment of Comprehensive School health Education,
within a coordinated school health program.
MeSHEC formed in 1984 to help pass Maine’s health education
graduation requirement and the K-12 health education mandate. We
believe that all Maine students deserve to learn how to make healthy
decisions that can prevent disease and injury. Our children need
to learn these powerful classroom lessons in safe and healthful
school environments.
No knowledge is more crucial than knowledge about health. Without
it, no other life goal can be successfully achieved. --- Earnest
L. Boyer (1983,p.304)
