Advocacy can occur any time. Many opportunities exist for sharing
opinions with your local school board or city council. Advocacy
can occur when you encounter a legislator in the State House or
the post office. You can sign up to speak at a public hearing
or write to legislators about your viewpoint. There are specific
points in the legislative process when bills are most readily
affected. Advocacy groups like MeSHEC can help you decide upon
the most effective strategy for making your views known to decision
makers.
